Tristan Rutherford has selected his choice of the Top 10 Best Overnight Train Trips in Europe, this is one of those articles that made me want to run to the station, despite a personal preference to only take overnight trains when it's the only practical option.
What's missing from the above is some of the practical aspects of the journeys, it's not clear whether Tristan paid the, often very expensive premium, to have a sleeping cabin to himself, or whether he was sharing a couchette with up to five other people!
